Karen R. Clarke

MSW, RSW counselling services

Karen is a registered social worker with a Masters in Social Work focused on a specialization in Clinical Counseling.  To enhance her skills, she has completed certifications and multiple workshops and training events.  Karen's clinical work has given her a deep sense of professional fulfillment as she has had the privilege of working closely with clients as they have overcome confusion, challenges, frustrations, helplessness, hurt and pain in their lives.

Karen works with individuals and couples in many stages of life.  To do this it takes an underlying stance, as well as expertise in specific theoretical approaches that will be effective for clients.  For some, a non- judgmental, compassionate and kind space, that is focused on strengths, supports them through tough times in their lives. For others a therapeutic approach moves them to a better place. To this end, Karen has found EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) to be effective for relationship and couple work.  She has also found EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to be effective for clients suffering from trauma, and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) along with relaxation and mindfulness to be effective in helping clients overcome panic attacks and manage stress and anxiety in their lives.  Karen also use Crisis, Narrative and Solution Focused approaches when relevant and helpful in the situation.

Karen is not currently accepting any new clients at this time.
